FESCO to help Uzbekistan develop logistics routes

The Russian company is working on transit transportation to Turkey, Africa and the Mediterranean.

The Russian company FESCO will help Uzbekistan in the development of logistics routes, the press service of the Russian Trade Mission in the republic reported.

The FESCO transport group discussed issues of cooperation in the field of container transportation with the management of Uzbekistan Railways and Uztemiryulkonteyner. Using FESCO intermodal services, it is planned to develop transit routes through Kyrgyzstan to China, as well as through Turkmenistan to Turkey, African and Mediterranean countries.

The parties also agreed to create direct container traffic between Tashkent and Moscow.

FESCO intends to participate in the development of transport infrastructure and projects in the field of digitalization of the logistics industry in Uzbekistan.

Since September 2022, FESCO has launched a new service for transporting goods from Japan through China and Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan. In total, the group transported 8.5 thousand TEU to Uzbekistan in 9 months – almost the same as in 2021.

In October last year, FESCO established a subsidiary in Uzbekistan, Fesco Turan, which is developing container transportation by rail to Uzbekistan from Europe and South Asia, as well as back.

The company carries out 35% of all container transportation from the Far East to Uzbekistan. Since the beginning of the year, the local FESCO Tashkent Shuttle service has delivered more than 7.5 thousand sea containers from Vladivostok to Tashkent.

For information, the FESCO transport group is one of the largest private logistics companies in Russia. It owns the Vladivostok sea trade port, railway operators Transgarant and Dalreftrans, as well as dry ports in Novosibirsk, Khabarovsk and Tomsk.
