Latvia expresses interest in expanding healthcare cooperation with Uzbekistan
The Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Latvia, Timur Rakhmanov, held talks with the country’s Minister of Health, Hosams Abu Meri.

During the meeting, Rakhmanov briefed the Latvian side about the reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan's healthcare sector.
The parties also discussed the development of cooperation and the implementation of joint projects in the fields of medicine, education, and pharmaceuticals.
Hosams Abu Meri noted that Latvia is interested in strengthening cooperation in nearly all areas of healthcare, given the active development of the medical sector resulting from the reforms in Uzbekistan. Specifically, he expressed interest in establishing direct connections between medical and educational institutions of the two countries, facilitating the exchange of specialists, and implementing projects in the pharmaceutical sector.
