Freight train hits Damas car at railway crossing in Tashkent region
A freight train collided with a Damas vehicle at the Dalaguzar-Nazarbek railway crossing in Tashkent region on December 15. According to Uzbekistan Railways, the incident occurred when the Damas driver ignored warning signs and attempted to cross the railway in unfavorable weather conditions.
The vehicle became stuck on the tracks, prompting the driver and nearby motorists to try moving it manually. Despite their efforts, they were unable to remove the car in time.
The train driver spotted the stranded vehicle and immediately engaged the emergency brakes. However, given the stopping distance for freight trains — ranging from 800 to 1,000 meters — the collision could not be avoided.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the accident.
