Uzbekistan to digitize property sales, rentals, and alimony agreements starting September 2027

Starting in September 2027, agreements related to property exchanges, rental contracts, and alimony payments will be confirmed online. Integration with local utilities databases will also be established so that once a property sale contract is confirmed, ownership information will be updated automatically.

Contracts for property purchases or gifts, as well as certain other legal agreements, will be notarized via video communication. This measure is outlined in a presidential decree signed on September 9.

According to the decree, from 2026 a Face ID or fingerprint system will be introduced to verify identity in place of passports or ID cards. Beginning in December, it will also be possible to revoke powers of attorney online and formalize enforcement documents electronically.

From June 2026, marriage contracts and vehicle lease agreements will be confirmed online, while starting in December, inheritance and mortgage agreements will also be notarized digitally.

In September 2027, online confirmation will be extended to property exchanges, rental contracts, and alimony agreements.

Additionally, in March 2026 the “E-Notarius” mobile application is expected to be launched, and enforcement documents prepared by notaries will be automatically integrated into the electronic document flow. By the end of 2026, all notarial offices will be provided with fiber-optic internet.

Integration with local utilities databases will ensure that once a property sale contract is confirmed, information about the owner will be updated automatically.
