According to the presidential decree on supporting medical and pharmaceutical workers, from 1 April 2026, the working schedule of state medical institutions will be changed from a six-day to a five-day work week.
The document notes that “in order to ensure the continuity of medical services, the work of these institutions on holidays and days off will be organized on a duty basis.”
On 8 November, during his congratulatory message on the occasion of Medical Workers’ Day, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized the high value of healthcare professionals’ contributions and noted that their financial and social conditions would be gradually improved. The address also outlined priority tasks such as increasing funding, expanding digitalization, and enhancing medical personnel training.
