According to the State Labor Inspectorate, the country recorded 529 work-related accidents in January–July, including 24 group accidents, 372 resulting in serious consequences and 132 that were fatal.
Overall, 580 people were affected by workplace accidents during the seven-month period. Of them, 402 sustained serious injuries, 22 suffered minor injuries and 146 died.
The largest number of workplace accidents was recorded in industry, with 168 cases, followed by construction with 159.
The trade and services sector recorded 22 accidents, while 20 occurred in transport and logistics. Healthcare accounted for 16 cases, agriculture and water management for 15, and education for 14.
Tashkent recorded the highest number of workplace accidents among the country’s regions and cities, with 95 cases.
Tashkent region followed with 58 cases, while Kashkadarya region recorded 38 and Bukhara region 34. Andijan and Samarkand regions each registered 33 cases, while Navoi region recorded 31.
Authorities recovered UZS 11.379 billion in one-time and monthly compensation payments to cover damages resulting from workplace accidents during the period.
