According to astronomical calculations, Eid al-Adha falls on Wednesday, 27 May 2026. Under the terms of the presidential decree regulating official holiday schedules, signed on 24 December 2025, the consecutive non-working days will begin on the day of the festival.
The decree designates Thursday, 28 May and Friday, 29 May as additional non-working days for all workers. For employees on a six-day workweek, Saturday, 30 May is also declared an additional day off, while remaining a standard rest day for those on a five-day schedule. Combined with the regular rest day on Sunday, 31 May, the measure ensures a continuous five-day break for the entire national workforce.
Legal expert Khushnudbek Khudoyberdiev noted that the extended break makes May 2026 an exceptionally light working month. Employees on a five-day workweek will receive a total of 14 days off throughout the month, while those on a six-day workweek will get 10 rest days.
According to Khudoyberdiev, this is the highest number of rest days allocated in a single month in recent memory, marking an unprecedented holiday period for workers in Uzbekistan.
